Tata lies an hour’s bus ride away from Budapest. Situated by the side of a beautiful lake, this charming little baroque town offers many attractions and activities concentrated in a small urban area. Boats tours and kayak rental is available for those who want to experience nature, while a medieval castle and several museums and sites around the lake offer cultural adventures. One of the largest wine producer region lies a few kilometers north of Tata. The Hilltop Winery situated on top of a small mountain overlooking the Danube offers a wonderful vista of the region and also excellent wine tasting tours.
